Why now?

Because change needs to happen in a variety of areas and it will not occur on its own. Because sexual violence and mental health struggles are real.

Because when about a third of women around the world have experienced it at some point in their life (World Health Organization); Getting treatment or help can be very challenging and unaffordable.

Change will only happen with awareness and providing different alternatives to aid those who have experienced it and the support network (family and friends) around them.

Sexual Assault and Harassment in Mexico

Growing up in Mexico I knew what sexual harassment and assault are from a very young age. There are 'normal' things we learn by observing and listening; growing up in a city where most girls and women change their behavior and clothing every day for safety or precaution without giving it too much thought, I didn't realize the issue it was just reality. It wasn't until I left Mexico to continue my education that I realized all those little tendencies and started to look into the origin or reason behind them. Through some conversations and lots of research, I  found some statistics and heard first-hand stories about sexual violence towards women.
